“Nemo emerges as an outsider with its unique collection from outstanding architects of the 20th century (Le Corbusier, Mario Bellini, etc…) and today’s designers, each determined to bring the poetry and technique of their own time, as exemplified by the bird lamp of Bernhard Osann.”

Nemo Lighting, founded in Milan in 1993 by Franco Cassina, is a reference name that has its roots in a history of innovations that has always inspired Italian design. Owned by Federico Palazzari, Nemo creates “The Masters” collection, a unique selection of lamps designed by the masters of the twentieth century such as Le Corbusier, Charlotte Perriand, Vico Magistretti, Franco Albini and Kazuhide Takahama.

Alongside these projects, Nemo also dedicates itself to the creation of contemporary icons by collaborating with designers including Mario Bellini, Álvaro Siza, Jean Nouvel, Andrea Branzi, Bernhard Osann and Arihiro Miyake.

In 2020, Nemo acquired the historical Turin-based company ILTI Luce, which is committed to the research and| development of innovative solutions for architectural lighting design in the museum, retail and outdoor sectors. Growth is accelerated with the acquisition of a majority stake in Reggiani Illuminazione, a historic company in the architectural lighting sector founded in Brianza in 1957: the company increases its project business with further expansion potential and acquires an internationally recognised portfolio of competencies in the key segment of high-end retail. In 2024 Nemo Group strengthens its statement with the acquisition of FontanaArte and Driade, two icons of international design. In 2026, Nemo Group opens a new development phase for Driade through a strategic alliance with Kettal, which acquires a majority shareholding in the brand.

The group’s four companies – Nemo Lighting, ILTI Luce, Reggiani and FontanaArte – operate as separate entities, but within a larger framework of collaboration that contributes to the growth of Italian companies that have made design and lighting history around the world. Today Nemo Lighting, with headquarters in Milan and branches in France and the United States, has a distribution network in more than 80 countries.

Nemo Lighting actively supports the promotion of design culture through exhibitions, institutional collaborations, sponsorships, and international events celebrating the legacy of leading architects and designers, helping to preserve and enhance Italian and international design heritage.
